BADAK (Maranao Recipe)
Badak is a
healthy maranao soup made from coconut milk and usually best partnered with
rice. It is great for the cold weather and tastes better with extra palapa!
Ingredients:
·
1kg fresh jackfruit
·
2pcs dried fish or bulad
·
Sliced onions and garlic
·
Sliced bell pepper
·
1 cup coconut milk from the first strain
·
Gata (2nd strain)
·
2 spoon of palapa
·
2tbsp salt
·
Turmeric or kalawag
·
Namnam (optional)
Procedures:
1. Prepare the
Ingredients. after that, heat the pot first.
2. Pour the
cooking oil after the pot gets hot.
3. Mix the
Sliced onions, garlic, and palapa in the pot then mix them well.

4. After you
mix it, pour ½ glass of water and the 2nd strain coconut milk, after
that mix them with turmeric.
5. Cook the
jackfruit in 30 minutes first to soften it, it needs to be proportional to the
amount of water. Then mix the jackfruit in the pot.
6. Put a 2tbsp
of salt or namnam (optional) to add a taste.
7. Mix the
first strained coconut milk.
8. Let it boil
for a minutes then your special badak maranao recipe is now ready!
The Dish Badak is
known as one of the best maranao recipe that every foreigner or Christians
might love. This is usually made by our brothers and sisters from the Islamic
